Powering a car with electricity opens up a new world: the new e-SUBARU GLOBAL PLATFORM with a compact, high-capacity battery integrated into the vehicle chassis for greater rigidity. The front and rear eAxle motors offer improved handling, greater safety and the silent response that only an electric vehicle can provide.
Power pack (engine/battery)
The front and rear axles are equipped with compact eAxle motors with instantaneous full torque distribution for powerful, rapid response and linear acceleration. S PEDAL DRIVE provides dynamic acceleration/deceleration control from the accelerator pedal, and the battery temperature is controlled by a water-cooling system to ensure stable performance.
e-SUBARU GLOBAL PLATFORM
The SOLTERRA is built on an all-new platform designed to maximise the performance of the electric vehicle. The high-capacity battery is located under the floor, lowering the centre of gravity to improve manoeuvrability and also providing an extremely space-saving layout that increases the size of the interior. In addition, the battery box forms a monolithic structure with the bodywork to improve rigidity.
Charging
Extended range and compatibility with high-efficiency chargers support the usefulness of the SOLTERRA. The 150kW DC fast charge brings the battery to 80% capacity in 30 minutes, while a heat pump ensures short charging times and stable output in winter. Remote monitoring of the state of charge and other functions via a smartphone is also available.
Symmetrical AWD Transmission

Subaru vehicles are especially engineered to inspire confidence, thanks to the stability of the Symmetrical AWD transmission combined with the perfect balance of the SUBARU BOXER engine. This architecture makes it possible to efficiently and permanently transmit the power to the four wheels for an increased control on any type of road and in difficult conditions.
It ensures excellent balance and directional accuracy unparalleled through the longitudinal alignment of its main components while the low center of gravity promotes a particularly rewarding and responsive ride. X-Mode*
The X-MODE offers you a mastery of the most reliable at the touch of a button. X-MODE technology takes control of the engine, gearbox, Symmetrical AWD transmission, brakes and other major components to help keep the vehicle moving safely on challenging roads and uneven terrain.
When X-MODE is activated, the descent control system automatically helps the Outback maintain a constant speed when negotiating a slope.
